General Info on X-Cat May 2026
This is a variation option that includes a camp site to accommodate doing the hike over a weekend without having to book a two night minimum at the hotels on the island.
Notes about the ferry to Catalina:
- Departs from Long Beach to Avalon
- Can not return to Long Beach from Two Harbors directly
- Two Harbors to San Pedro departs 4:45 pm with a stop at Avalon (2.5 – 3h ride)
- Cyclone powerboat express not available on the weekdays
- Sunday departure time to Avalon for Cyclone from Two Harbor 4:30pm

08:45 ➡️ 10:15: Ferry San Pedro -> Avalon
10:30 ➡️ 21:30: Hike: Avalon -> Two Harbors
Sat Night: Two Harbors Campsite (or keep going)
05/10 (Sun):
05:00 ➡️ 05:30: AM prep
05:30 ➡️ 16:00: Hike: Two Harbors Loop (^^)
16:40 ➡️ 19:30: Ferry Two Harbors to SP
20:00 ➡️ 21:00: SP -> IRV
05/11 (Mon)
08:20 -> 09:45: JB -> OAK
