JB's Fun Stuff And Adventures

Hi All!

Welcome to the August update! July was a productive month overall, Still dealing with home care logistics so glad to get out and do what I can, Hope to find ways to keep things going with the ongoing challenges. Completed the Dirty Dozen 12 hour endurance event and nailed my goal. It was a bit of a motivational struggle since there were last minute issues for the weekend coverage and it made an impact on my general focus. However, even with that I was able to get a second place AG with a total of 40 miles. I wanted to keep things a bit lower on the mileage since I had another big event coming on the next weekend which also kicked off the August adventures.

So with that as a segue, the next big event was the Extraterrestrial Full Moon 51k (Since the course is near Area 51) on the Extraterrestrial Highway starting in Rachel NV.  I’ve made sure to let my college Agent Smith aware of my shenanigans. The event started at midnight and was an out and back 6.5 mile x4 then a 2.5 out and back segment. I was targeting a 7:30 completion time and was not far off. Along with that I was able to AG again at 2nd place. I’m going to refer to this accomplishment as my 1st 2×2 (2 2nd place AG’s in two back to back ultra events). I also achieved a new 50k PR time as well!

Simmering Stuff:

• For the tech stuff the church-of-miles site will be coming out at some point. Plans are to hook it up to a social media page and get some yatra events going! 🙂
• Also plans on giving the main site for basswake.net some overdue attention
