Hi All,
Who are signed up for the Yosemite Half Dome hike. Since my Meetup messenger app message didn’t make it out to everyone on the event I’m putting it up on a location so it;s visible to all who need the information. So here is the latest:

Subject: Half Dome accommodations take 2

Resending with corrections =)
Hi All,
I have some updates on the accommodations that I have put together for the trip. First 5 to Pay Pal the amount of 37.66 (email bassmknk@gmail.com or # 6503995033) are RSVP’d for the first cabin. If it turns out there are less then 6 signed up of the cabin I will request the additional difference. If/When I get 5 signed up I will RSVP a second tent (if available) and also send a message about the rates when booked:
I went and got a cabin at House keeping they can fit up to
6. The rate is 91.00 +tax ect. p/n. The total (includes both nights) is
$226.02. The unit can sleep up to 6. If there is more interest I can
book a second. I’m not sure how to recoup the cost via meetup so I’ll
just include the price data divided by the amount of people (next up is
a general timeline for the hike start):
6 = 37 2/3
5 = 45.2
4 = 56.5
3 = 75 1/3
2 = 113
1 = I get a nice big room.
Package Descriptions:
* standard:
“Includes room only. Rates based on quadruple occupancy. Additional
fee’s may apply. Policies Cancel 7 days prior to arrival to avoid
forfeiture of deposit. A $10.00 handling fee, per unit will also be

charged at the time of booking.”
OR the “Roasty Toasty Package” which has:
“Back by popular demand, the Roasty Toasty Package at Housekeeping Camp!

double-occupancy), the Roasty Toasty Package includes a Non-River Unit
with bed packs, firewood, and a s’mores kit ready for you upon arrival.
Lets go camping! Coleman propane stove and bear box locks are available
upon request.”
Here is all of the relevant info: (tl;dr)
Unit Description
Housekeeping Camp units consist of three concrete walls, a concrete
floor, double canvas roof and a fourth curtained wall. The curtain
separates the sleeping area from a covered patio area with a privacy
fence that’s furnished with picnic table and bear-proof food storage
containers. Each unit also includes a campfire ring with grill grate.
Each of the 266 units in the Housekeeping Camp area can accommodate up
to six people. The sleeping area has 1 bunk bed (with 2 stacked twin
mattresses), a double bed, table, chairs, mirror, electrical lights and
outlets. Two additional cots may be added to sleep a total of 6.
Housekeeping Camp’s lodging does not include linens or daily
housekeeping service, despite the camp’s interesting name. There are no
televisions or telephones.
Cooking and Food Storage
Each unit has a campfire ring with a grill grate and a food storage
locker. Charcoal and firewood are available for purchase at the
Housekeeping Camp Store. All food and scented items must be stored in the
closed food storage locker at all times. Food includes all food and
drinks (even unopened canned or bottled goods), toiletries, other
scented items, and ice chests.
Your Housekeeping Camp unit comes with two food storage lockers measuring:
33 inches deep x45 inches wide x 18 inches tall
17 inches deep x45 inches wide x 17 inches tall
Refrigerators are prohibited. They are not bear-resistant.
Failure to comply with food storage policies may result in a $5000 fine
and/or your removal from the camp. Food stored improperly may be
confiscated. Vehicles used for food storage may be impounded.
Additional food storage guidelines:
– Treat your food stoage locker like you would your refrigerator at
home; never leave the door open.
– We recommend using sealed plastic containers for storing your food
inside the lockers. This makes it easier to keep your food organized and
away from campground critters.
– Please wash your dishes and dispose of trash immediately after eating.
– Remove all your items from your food storage locker upon your departure.

storage helps protect them.
Restrooms and Showers
Central restrooms and shower facilities with soap and towels are located
in the shower house near the registration office and store. Other
restrooms are located throughout the camp.
Quiet Hours
All guests must observe quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Please be
considerate of others when checking in after 10:00 pm.
Pets
Pets are not permitted at Housekeeping Camp. Kennels are available May
through September and are located at the Yosemite Valley Stable. Find
more information about pets in Yosemite.
Firewood Information
In an effort to protect Yosemite from invasive species, it is advised
that you purchase your firewood at or near your camping destination.
Firewood can carry insects and diseases that threaten the health of
Yosemite’s environment. You can make a difference by buying and burning
your firewood locally. Local firewood is available at most stores in
Yosemite. For more information, visit the National Park Service website.
